is was the month of the Twilight Saga. But before I delve into the awesomeness that is the series, I need to cover the first few other books.This month, I decided to draw my attention to memoirs and succeeded with just two of them. James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces which quite intense and overwhelming to say the least and Tina Fey’s Bossypants which was surprisingly boring and slightly disappointing.
For some random reasons, I stumbled on the Twilight movie on TV and of course, that piqued my curiosity. Prior to now, I had aversions for ”certain” genres of books and this series fell into that category and so I’d never really considered reading it. Sure, I’d heard about it through the hype and like every other thing wasn’t moved. The beauty of it now is that this series, has somewhat helped to open my mind to explore other genres so much that I’ve downloaded the Vampire Diaries. Like every other good
fortune book, I always like to walk into it rather than follow the hype so forgive me if I’m a few years late.
The Twilight Saga was an awesome experience for me. So much that I finished all 5 books within a week and suffered from severe withdrawal symptoms.I loved every bit of the story;especially the smooth transition from one book to another and then Stephanie Mayer’s writing style – which was everything and then some – so much that I did not mind reading the additional Midnight Sun. I was desperately in need of her works;whether affiliated with the Twilight Saga or not. I wanted her to talk to me through her words once again and so I began scouting the internet for her works. Fortunately, I found two of them; The Twilight Saga: the complete illustrated movie companion which I’m currently reading and a stand-alone book;The Host. Needless to say, my excitement couldn’t be contained when I finally found a continuance of sorts. The last author that had this rather intense influence on me was Eat,Pray,Love’s Elizabeth Gilbert.
In the particular order of reading;
1. A Million Little Pieces – James Frey
2. The Guardian – Nicholas Sparks
3. Bossypants – Tina Fey
4. Twilight – Stephanie Mayer
5. New Moon – Stephanie Mayer
6. Eclipse – Stephanie Mayer
7. Breaking Dawn – Stephanie Mayer
8. Midnight Sun – Stephanie Mayer
9. Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion – Stephanie Mayer
Cheers to a year of awesome books! 🍻
